NORADRENALINA

Noradrenalina

From November 27 – December 16, 2024
Galeria 5, Timișoara, Romania

Noradrenalina captures the sudden, effervescent energy I try to infuse into every piece I create. Just as this chemical energizes the body in moments of tension, my works attempt to transmit that heightened state of alertness, that burst of unbridled emotion. Every shape, every color becomes a visual manifestation of an inner frenzy—a dance between chaos and order, between control and surrender. Noradrenalina is my call to feel the intensity of that experience that defines our very essence, a flow that can only be captured through an act of pure freedom.

Distance and longing have made painting a form of catharsis for Nora Blaj—an emotional release of images repressed in the unconscious. For her, each work is an imagined paradise in which, through collaboration with other senses, the visual gradually approximates and corrects errors of perception, preserving objects and their patterns so that, one by one, the same reality can be seen and dreamed anew—helping you align with the world around you, helping you find your way home.

None of my paintings is a love left without hope. Since moving to England, I have changed a great deal in my painting, because I searched for myself deeply—and searched deeply because I had lost myself. I altered my palette; I returned to the underlying patterns of things. The colors no longer all speak loudly—some have a stifled voice—and in this way I somewhat arrange the overflow of my emotions. So I change, explore, and experiment, but I never force anything; the transformations reveal themselves naturally, without drama.
Nora Blaj

The exhibition Nora Blaj presents evokes an explosion of energy and emotion, akin to the chemical that propels the body in moments of tension and excitement. In a world where everything seems to vibrate to the rapid rhythm of modern life, Nora aims to capture those effervescent instants—those seconds when time seems to stretch and contract at once. Each work becomes a transition between chaos and order, a search for balance in a world in constant frenzy. Vivid colors, fragmented forms, and bold compositions reflect this internal tension, creating an almost palpable atmosphere that seems to pulse with life. Noradrenalina is not just a title but an invitation to enter the depths of an internal—almost physical—reality, where every feeling translates into an uncontrollable visual flow, a dance between control and surrender, between fear and courage.
